On Tuesday 7th July 2026, the Social Welfare team met to discuss our monthly business, including preparations for the upcoming BIWA Healthy Day 2026, which will be held in September.

We were also blessed to be visited by Ibu Elsye Wirawan who spoke beautifully about the organisation she works for, Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK).

YPK was founded in 2001 and is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people with disabilities become more independent, improve their health, optimise their abilities, and recognise their value and importance within society. They currently support 247 active clients, of whom 70% are children and 30% are adults.

YPK exists because they believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves to be seen, heard, and supported to grow. They support children with both physical and intellectual disabilities and strive to break the stigma and stereotypes that often exist through a lack of awareness.

They work to create hope and open pathways where children can learn, express themselves, and build confidence for their futures.

YPK offers many different programs, including therapy, education, and creative activities. They also work closely with families, ensuring they feel supported and never alone. In addition, they operate mobile rehabilitation outreach programs, taking essential services into communities right across Bali.

YPK is an incredible organisation doing extraordinary work within the community for both adults and children. BIWA has also been very fortunate over the past four years to have the support of YPK through our own initiative, BIWA Healthy Day, and we hope to be able to return that support well into the future.

As you know, Healthy Day is coming up quickly, and we are still seeking donations. If you can help with any of the following items, we would be so grateful. We have several convenient drop-off points for donations.

Items needed include:

  • Clothing for women, men, and children (please ensure second-hand items are clean and in good condition)
  • Personal hygiene products and toiletries
  • School supplies
  • Shoes
  • Baby essentials

We appreciate ALL your support, no matter how big or small, because every little bit truly helps. 🙏❤️
