BIWA was delighted to host the Welcome New Members Gathering on Thursday, 6 August 2026, at Ares Restaurant, Sudamala Resort Sanur. It was a warm and enjoyable morning, bringing together both existing and new members from different countries to celebrate friendship, diversity, and the spirit of BIWA.
Although a few new members were unable to attend due to prior commitments, the gathering was filled with meaningful conversations and heartfelt introductions.
As Membership Coordinator, I would like to thank everyone who attended, especially Vice President Ibu Yus Martini and Ibu Tessa Dennis (Indonesia) for their support. A warm welcome was also extended to our new members: *Chariza (Indonesia), **Geraldine (United Kingdom), **Margaret (Australia), **Briar (Australia), and *Buffy (United States of America).
During the gathering, members shared the history of BIWA and the reasons for its establishment, highlighting the organisation's long-standing commitment to fostering friendship among women of all nationalities and to making a positive impact on the local community through its social welfare initiatives.
Each new member also had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their personal stories and motivations for joining BIWA. They expressed how excited they were to become part of an organisation that not only builds meaningful friendships but also provides opportunities to help those in need through BIWA's Social Welfare projects. Many shared their enthusiasm for participating in this year's community programs as well as future BIWA events and activities.
One of the most inspiring moments of the gathering was the opportunity to connect in a small group setting. The intimate atmosphere encouraged open conversations, allowing members to exchange experiences, inspire one another, and build genuine connections. It was a meaningful reminder that even a small gathering can create lasting friendships, valuable insights, and a shared commitment to making a difference together.
The morning concluded with smiles, new friendships, and renewed enthusiasm as everyone looked forward to contributing to BIWA's upcoming projects and continuing the organisation's mission of friendship, support, and community service.
