Our BIWA luncheon today was a joyful celebration of Kartini Day, filled with culture, colour, and connection. We arrived wearing beautiful kebayas, each one unique, elegant, and proudly reflecting Indonesian heritage. The atmosphere came alive as we sang the Kartini song together, followed by graceful traditional dances that brought smiles to everyone. Laughter and energy filled the room as we joined in the lively Poco-poco dance, enjoyed by all and creating a wonderful sense of unity. The event was not only meaningful but truly memorable for every guest.
A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, most specifically to Hatten Wines. Also to Brass and their team for hosting us so warmly and serving such delicious food throughout the afternoon. It was a beautiful reminder of friendship, appreciation, and the spirit of togetherness shared.
Raden Ajeng Kartini was a pioneering Indonesian heroine who championed women’s rights and education during the colonial era. She believed in equality, empowerment, and access to learning for women. Her letters inspired generations, and her legacy continues to shape Indonesia, reminding us of courage, progress, and the importance of opportunity.
